Brunel’s Research, Innovate, and Emerge (RIEm) Program Empowers CardioCrown in HealthTech Innovation

RIEm Supports SMEs with Innovation Funding, Research Collaboration, and Strategic Guidance for Business Growth

(RIEm) initiative has been instrumental in supporting UK-based SMEs in the HealthTech sector, helping them secure over £2.7 million in innovation funding. Designed specifically to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accessing research and innovation (R&I) funding and validating new technologies, RIEm has already benefitted 75 UK SMEs.

Victor Harbari, CEO of CardioCrown, commented on the RIEm experience: “RIEm has been instrumental in enabling us to refine our funding strategy and connect with the resources and partnerships needed for growth. The guidance we received from Brunel’s team and access to workshops and mentors has set us on a path toward greater innovation and impact.”

The program focused on HealthTech innovation, addressing the needs of early-stage startups in the sector. As part of the initiative, we engaged in workshops around funding, hold discussions with Brunel academics, connect with investors, and learned from presentations by organisations like Innovate UK and EIT Health. These sessions have proven invaluable for us to validate our health solutions and bring new innovations to the market.
